DIY Nontoxic Garden Pesticide: Oranges

It turns out that oranges–or more specifically, orange peels–are a great nontoxic, DIY tool for deterring pests in your garden. According to experts there are two ways you can do this:

(1) Create an orange peel spray by boiling the orange peels in one cup of water for 10 minutes. Strain the liquid and fill your spray bottle. Spray every 3-4 days to deter pests like slugs, aphids, ants, whiteflies, and fruit flies. You can also use this for indoor trees and plants.

(2) Chop or grind fresh orange peels and place them near the base of plants.
