The preservative ‘Calcium disodium EDTA’ is a commonly used one in processed foods appearing on U.S. grocery shelves.  But just because it is commonly used does not necessarily mean it is without risks.  Take a look at the red flags that have been associated with this food additive in research, clinical trials and consumer reports.  Next, read where this preservative is commonly found.  You can avoid it completely by simply reading the ingredients labels on food products prior to putting them in your cart.  There are ample options (especially organic versions) of these processed food items that do not include this preservative.
