Fast Food Linked with High Phthalate Levels

Fast food–and other sources of highly processed foods–are notorious for containing numerous synthetic and industrialized additives that have been linked in scientific studies and clinical trials with some pretty serious health-related problems.  Now there is another reason to avoid fast food–researchers in a U.S. government-funded study have discovered that endocrine-disrupting industrial chemicals in the food packaging are migrating into the food, leading to alarmingly high levels of the chemicals (phthalates) to be present in consumers’ bodies.
